This drawing tells about a life event that shocked most of Malay people in Malaysia during Hari Raya Puasa (Aidilfitri) that fall one day earlier. As my family and I was really in shock and quickly prepare to cook for tomorrow’s feast. I use charcoal for my drawing to reminiscing the moment where me and my sister had to stay awake and guard the woodfire for cooking the ketupat in the big pot at the back of my house. This moment made an impact as reflective of the unforgettable experience in my life. The forms and shape within these artworks are reflective of emotions and feelings during that time. I used my freehand to draw and intricate my drawing.
It is the middle of the night, something is being heated up in a large pot over an open fire. My sister is lying by the fire, sleeping in front of the fire as I recline back in a pair of comfortable jeans, resting my right foot on my left knee.
